最重要的一位爵士樂吉他手…. “Christian was an important early
performer on the electric guitar, and is cited as a key figure
in the development of bebop, cool and modern jazz. Many critics
believe that he alone is the link between hot and modern jazz —
that there is jazz before Charlie Christian and jazz after
Charlie Christian.”
這一句:”BEFORE,AFTER JAZZ.清楚地說明出生於1916年7月29
日的Charlie Christian.在爵士樂史發展史上佔據了最關鍵性的地位.
電吉他在爵士樂團中出現.最早是1925年左右.不過. 第一位讓電吉
他在爵士樂團中取得主奏樂器地位的樂手.正是Charlie Christian.
至於,往後對於藍調搖滾的影響.更可以說幾乎是我們所知道的任何一
位藍調搖滾吉他手的先驅導師.
